![]() Walter - could u please walk me thru EXACTLY how to migrate assuming I do not want all of my files under a sub folder called dropbox. ![]() So that is the basic issue - any ideas and thx in advance I am being told the new machine is not going to recognise the correct folders that it synched with from the old machine So now the new machine has a MY docs folder - but guess what had you used selective synch or smart synch on the orig files and stored them online only you no longer have the files in the new machine. OK assume i move all of my data (not system files just data) using an ext drive. So this method seems out completelyĢ) use ext hard drive to move data. It seems all of these methods above end up placing the data under a dropbox/ folder ? Support told me this and i tried a test using selective synch and that's what i got. I do not want to use mac migration tools and instead want to do a clean install and them move data over.ġ) move data using dropbox selective synch, smart synch or backup on dropbox ![]() ![]() I am disgusted that dropbox does not have a full guide on migration. They have very little info on how to migrate from one machine to another. I spent 4 hours chatting with several different support people at dropbox. ![]()
